The Conversions Your Dashboard Cannot See

Phone calls, WhatsApp messages, in-store visits: a large share of real conversions often escapes standard tracking. Here's how to make them visible.

Default tracking only sees part of the journey

GA4 and ad pixels naturally measure actions that happen entirely online well — a purchase, a filled-out form. But a significant share of real conversions end with a phone call, a WhatsApp message or an in-store visit, often invisible in standard reports.

The result: the cost per lead shown in reports looks higher than it actually is, which can lead to cutting campaigns that, in reality, are performing well.

How to make these conversions visible

Call tracking attributes each inbound call to its originating campaign. WhatsApp click tracking counts conversations started from an ad. Offline conversion imports finally connect sales closed in-store or by phone back to the campaigns that generated them.

Setting this up requires a clean data architecture — GA4, Google Tag Manager, Meta Conversion API — but it fundamentally changes how a campaign's real performance is read.

A decision based on incomplete data is costly

Cutting a profitable campaign because tracking doesn't see the calls or WhatsApp sales it generates is one of the most costly — and most avoidable — mistakes in digital marketing.
